call HART crazy
It’s my birthday next week (11th) and the Circus is in town July 9-13, 2008! I’ve never seen them “live” but thought it would be a much more memorable event than …
* getting a new office chair
* getting a few 12GIG memory sticks
* gift cards from local futureshop or best buy
* new digital camera that is at least 12 megapixels
* etc etc

call HART crazy .. but
Good thing .. I guess! Being a local here in Winnipeg … it’s nice to get these assholes off the streets! I remember a few summers ago, it was pretty bad. Not only were people racing between lights after Polo Park Shopping Center (at St.James Street - going west) .. they would sit there at the lights, revving up .. and wait until the last second when it turned yellow or red again. It was quite annoying.

The weather has been cold lately in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada. We’ve had minus temperatures, snow .. but today we reached a high of 14c (yesterday was a high of 9c). Tonight it will be minus4c.
But that didn’t stop me! I am wearing
* Summer Shorts
* My Croc Sandals
* NO JACKET
* NO SOCKS!

There has been a lot of talent that has come out of Winnipeg. Honestly, I think the lack of recognition might be that Winnipeg’ers all want to be rich and famous, or both .. but really don’t wan’t the world to know where we come from - because it’s nice here in out little place in Canada. Prices are not skyrocketing (yet), we get a lot of sun, we are home of people like Burton Cummings, Neil Young, Harlequinn, and other famous musicians and non-musicians .. we are an hour’s drive away from the U.S.A. border and 3-hour drive to Grand Forks, North Dakota (4 hours to Fargo) .. and an hour’s drive to Lake Winnipeg and some of the greatest beaches in the world .. Gimli, Grand Beach, Victoria Beach (where we have a cottage now), and so on and so on! We have about 10,000 lakes in Manitoba and many Provincial forests and parks and up north Manitoba you can get the best fishing comparable to anywhere .. visit Churchill and go Whale Hunting and find some polar bears above the tree line. I have no plans to be a public broadcast for Tourism Manitoba .. but, I just wanted you all to first visualize what Manitoba is all about .. besides being in the center of Canada (yes it’s true) and being in the center of North America! (Okay, I’m not sure if THAT’s true, but we like to think so!).

I probably won’t go.
The Red River Exhibition is an annual carnival or county fair that has many rides, live events, gambling traps and merchants flogging their wares for everybody to spend money on. This year, it is on between June 16th and June 25th. I think it’s about 5 days early this year. Why? Probably, because for the past 25 years it rains every bloody day at this event! Maybe they think that if they book it earlier, there won’t be rain. But, there was rain over the weekend. Why? Because IT RAINS DURING THE SPRING AND SUMMER HERE IN WINNIPEG! ACCEPT IT!
At least it doesn’t rain most of the time like it does in, say Vancouver or in the UK .. and even though we are known as “Sunny Manitoba” .. we do get our share of rain storms.
