Who makes up this stuff? They forgot one ..

7. The most illogical and made up statistics ever!

Okay .. granted .. I watched the show … as this is the only part of the series that my wife likes to watch – the rejections and wannabees .. (she hates all episodes past the top 12) .. but I wouldn’t rate it “high”. And, it’s not like I was waiting to watch this show as we had supper just before the shows. We had the automatic tuners scheduled to switch to the channel, but never sat down until 7:15pm or so. And my wife flipped during the whole show to other channels (instead of laughing and making fun of contestants during commercials).

In fact, I would NOT rate this as a success and instead call it a poor failure of highered expectations gone bad. It was quite poor .. horrific .. and possibly the worst shows ever (to quote Simon).

Last tax season (Feb-Jun) I bought myself a little TV for my office to watch stuff like this, Canadian Idol, Amazing Race etc while I work .. but, if it’s turned on at all – it will be to the Space Channel and watching Stargate SG-1 or Star Trek or Andromeda or Everybody Loves Raymond or Family Guy or SouthPark or .. or even a blank screen – than this.

I’m sorry – but WE, as consumers, TV Viewers, and human beings with decency .. must petition together and STOP THIS ATROCITY. AAAARRHH!! MY EYES!!!

Armed & Famous is a reality television series that premiered January 10, 2007, on CBS.

The series follows five ‘celebrities’ as they train to become reserve police officers for the Muncie, Indiana, police department, followed by graduation. After that, the ‘celebrities’ will go on patrol with the same training officers who traditionally ride with new officers.

The series stars Erik Estrada, La Toya Jackson, Jack Osbourne, Trish Stratus, and Jason Acuña (a.k.a. “Wee Man” on Jackass).

On December 5, 2006, the ‘celebrities’ were officially sworn in as reserve officers.[1]

Several Muncie locations have been shown to appear as if they were police facilities, such as what was said to be the Muncie Police Training Academy. In reality, the outside of the building was Muncie Central High School, while the inside was Central’s wrestling room. The premiere episode attracted 8.2 million viewers, generateing a 2.9 rating. Its second episode was seen by 7.8 million viewers, and generated a rating of 2.7. [citation needed]

By the way .. the five famous people are: Erik Estrada (from chips), La Toya Jackson, Jack Osbourne, Trish Stratus (from WWE), and Wee Man (from Jackass)

Besides its stupidity .. that you believe that any of them can even be a cop (although Erik Estrada at least looks like one DUH) .. the filming looked quite edited as if to show the famous stars closer to the scenes than they seemed to be – or, afterwards. Check it out if you don’t believe me.

HBO Presents: ROME

I’ve had the liberty to watch the encore presentation of Season One right from the start, while my wife is getting ready for work each morning. It has been airing on the Movie Channel 4 in the mornings usually around 6am CST and, if you didn’t know – Season Two begins this Sunday night on Movie Channel 1 at 10pm CST here in Canada.

Honestly? I’m not familiar with details of the story and history .. and this show is not educating me with details of a story and history .. that is, besides the obvious plotline. But there is a great fascination on my part about the actual scenery, the period, the bare skinned and gratuitous sex scenes and even seemingly real wounds and violence from sword battles and fights.

It was well made and is entertaining to watch. You can truly “call HART crazy” but, I think you can sit there and watch 15 minutes worth and enjoy watching that 15 minutes .. but, it has no apparent plot to the show whatsoever. Only occassionly, there is conversation that makes sense and you say to yourself .. Ah .. right.. and the show makes sense again.

I don’t know – Like to watch, don’t really understand it .. I guess it’s a like/hate thing .. I’ll probably start watching Season Two when it comes around on the weekend.

Of course .. it games lame after a while .. as all the trivia questions are quite easy to remember and figure out eventually!

DEXTER … will probably be a smashing success and hit show series! There – I’ve said it. My wife watched its premier episode #1 last weekend, and suggested that I watch it this weekend episode #2 .. I did ..

Here’s the show premise.. Dexter (the guy from Six Feet Under show) is a forensic expert in blood patterns who works with the Miami Police Department. He is also a serial killer, who kills people that the police can’t bring to justice. He has to hide his double life from his sister, his girlfriend and his co-workers. He is intrigued by a killer who has found a way to kill girls without leaving blood behind.

Right now .. I’m not sure if I like it – or dislike it – so I’m giving it a 50/50 Like/Hate category classification here .. but, I think it will be a multi-season show series – despite what I think. I see some interesting things in the show that’s interesting to watch whether I like it or not like it .. I didn’t feel like channel surfing during the show!

For some reason, they replaced my 11:00am and 5:00pm version of Andromeda with The Hilarious House of Frightenstein (check out the website).. on the Space Channel. But, this was a great show that I actually watched during the seventies .. It was Canadian Vaudeville at it’s finest, with Billy Van who played the following characters:

* Bwana Clyde Batty
* The Gorilla
* Grizelda, The Ghastly Gourmet
* The Librarian
* The Maharishi
* The Oracle
* Dr. Pet Vet
* The Singing Soldier
* The Wolfman .. and of course
* Count Frightenstein

Fishka Rais played the Count’s manservant and companion .. Igor – the green-skinned Michelin man lookalike. Vincent Price was also on this show with lots of poetry and stuff. Do you remember Billy Van from the Sonny & Cher Show? Yup. He was on that too.

What I liked about the show, despite that sometimes it was soooooo awful it was a groaner every minute at the old jokes .. sometimes they would have some interesting science experiments and neat and wierd animal segments … If you watch the “Return to Transylvania” video linked below, they mention that the show was probably scripted about 30% and Ad-Lib’ed the rest of the show .. It showed sometimes

Have you ever watched the series Starting Over shows? It’s on every day. In our neck of the woods .. we’re watching it every morning at 6:00am – 7:00am on KCPQ-TV I believe, on channel 338 or some high channel like (We have MTS cable TV through our phone company).

The first time I watched it .. I not only thought it sucked … but I remember making lots of fun at the show and thoroughly making fun of every character on the show.

My wife hates me for that.

Not only would I make fun of what I was watching, but I would say something like …

“… Aaaaaand .. Cut! This time, let’s try that with tears! goood. Good.”

Can it be so orchestrated for women and emotional audiences? EGADS ARE THEY MILKING THE CAMERA OR WHAT!

But .. that was before. Now I have pretty much watched about 2 months … usually catching the last half of the show, getting up around 6:15-6:30am .. and you know what? I’m like a deer in headlights now. I hate it. Yet I watch it.

Ugh .. and in the morning while my wife is getting ready for work .. if she is running the Hair Dryer and can’t hear what they say? I keep her up to date … Now .. how bad is that?

But the real funny part of the show is this … there are Life Coaches out there that pretty much do what they seem to present themselves doing on the show, in real life. I have a few clients that use Life Coaches and have never been happier.

So .. I designated this post as both like and dislike. It’s okay, and as long as my wife is watching it .. I will too in the morning. If she wasn’t watching it? I’d be watching old reruns of Everybody Loves Raymond, Friends, Have Gun Will Travel, or Seinfeld episodes in the morning.

Actually .. during the same time slot .. (I can browse all my TV shows online) .. I’d probably be watching Andromeda on the Mystery Channel, or Rescue Me on Showcase

One thing is for sure – when they focus entirely on one project team who gloats about how victorious their win will be, watch for the interview from the person who gets the most air time = = >> that’s the person who will be fired.

Geesh – In my opinion, Michael was the only sane and decent person on that show that hasn’t been fired ..

The remaining men:

* Lee – That 4.0 grade point average means nothing to me – sure, you can pass tests .. that’s not real life

* Sean – Yes .. the most colorful character but, he does seem to be one minded most of the time, and only “gets it” after the fact and after somebody points it out to him .. it’s just that everybody gets sidetracked with his accent, they don’t seem to notice that

The remaining Women:

* Allie – AARGH Where’s my cross .. Vampire! Demon! Evil! SHoo! Fire Her Next Mr. Trump!

* Roxanne – I don’t think she “gets it” either .. how did she last this long?
Tammy – The quiet one ..

* Tammy – Well, by process of elimination .. I think she’s the only one left to win this season’s Apprenticeship.

But .. only if there is nothing else on T.V. will I be watching it. Boooooooring.

… if you know me – you probably know that I am a fan of William Shatner and everything he is associated with. Star Trek. I probably have watched every single episode of the original Star Trek show a hundred times. I have watched every episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation at least 5 times each. I probably didn’t see all the episodes on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine more than once(because the acting sucked) but so far I have been watching Enterprise twice since it’s been cancelled.

Yes – all started with William Shatner – I even watched T.J. Hooker. And, I am a fan of Boston Legal, have watched all the shows he was on, directed or promoted .. including the spoof movies like Loaded Weapon, Free Enterprise, etc.

Denny Crane .. Denny Crane … Comic genius!

So … why was I pissed off after watching “The Biography of William Shatner” ???

* It was in an “Entertainment Tonight” format
* BooHoo Poor William Shatner was Typecast as Captain Kirk
* WHAT? Did they seem to imply it was his fault his 3rd wife drowned?
* William Shatner, despite being washed up, is alive and kicking.

Canada’s Worst Drivers

The Concept of the Show:

We’ve taken the eight worst drivers in the country off the roads and into isolated barracks of our Driver Rehabilitation Centre. Each week, they have to compete in challenges designed to test and improve their core driving skills. But, they won’t do it alone – wife, friend, mother-in-law, co-worker, or whoever it was that nominated them, has to come along for the ride…….

Sounds good so far. A reality Show. A voting type of show. Could be a winner?

Implementation of the Concept:

They ran Episodes #1 and #2 back to back tonight, Sunday between 7pm and 9pm .. – I fell asleep through this show it was so bad.

And .. I missed Family Guy and American Dad for this?

Next time – I take the remote away from my wife, or go watch TV in another room.
