Tribute To Steven Banks aka Billy The Mime and The Aristocrats

call HART crazy .. but

I watched that movie again last night … The Aristrocrats. Basically, it’s documentary about about one of the oldest jokes done by comedians since the vaudeville days .. called “The Aristocrats”. If you haven’t heard of this before, it’s really about the art of story telling among comedians, trying to make the other one vomit, laugh, be disgusted and .. well .. here’s the blurb on it..

This is a documentary about a joke. It is a joke only told by comedians to other comedians. The outline of the joke is that a man goes into an agent’s office and says he has a family act. He then either acts out or describes the most obscene acts possible. The stunned agent says, “And what do you call yourselves?” and the man answers, “The Aristocrats.” Each comedian describes how he tells the story. Each is different, each tries to get an element of surprise out of their listeners, who are assumed to be other comedians….

It’s quite funny .. BUT –> The funniest tale (after knowing the story as told by the previous comedians in the movie) ..was made by Steven Banks aka Billy the Mime, playing himself as Billy the Mime - MIMING the Aristocrat Joke .. and here it is - You should be able to get the general theme of this joke!

Beyond The Valley Of The Dolls

Great movie! I watched it today although I must admit .. there were a few scenes that even I couldn’t understand their groooovy lingo! Haha … but it was great! Yes, there was some scenes of nudity in there.

Here’s the premise: It’s a parody about a female rock band in Hollywood. Here are the ‘plot summaries on the IMDB site ..

Plot Summary for
Beyond the Valley of the Dolls (1970)
This film is a sequel in name only to Valley of the Dolls (1967). An all-girl rock band goes to Hollywood to make it big. There they find success, but luckily for us, they sink into a cesspool of decadence. This film has a sleeping woman performing on a gun which is in her mouth. It has women posing as men. It has lesbian sex scenes. It is also written by Roger Ebert, who had become friends with Russ Meyer after writing favorable reviews of several of his films.

Summary written by Mark Logan

A hip and happenin’ all girl rock group head to LA to claim lead-singer Kelly’s inheritance and make it (and make it) in LA. They immediately fall under the spell of rock’n'roll Svengali, the ‘Teen Tycoon’ of rock Ronnie ‘Z-Man’ Barzell, and other rapacious Hollywood party types as lustful porno actress Ashley St Ives, ravenous lesbian Roxanne and shady lawyer Porter Hall. Soon the girls fall into a morass of drugs and deceit as their recording success soars. It takes several tragedies to make them stop and think… but is it too late?

Star Wars: Revenge Of The Sith

call HART crazy .. but

I finally saw this 3rd (or rather the 6th?) instalment of the Star Wars series for the first time ever .. without having to pay at the theatre or through Pay-Per-View.

I’m glad I waited. Nothing special, but I’m a Sci-Fan. I was sad when they killed off Samuel Jackson .. ~sniffles* but, at least now when the mood is right .. I will rent (or maybe download?) all six Star War movies and have a marathan weekend of Star Wars and Blogging … maybe in late August!

Today is Friday the 13th
