Who’s the other dude in the foreground playing rhythm? John Lombardo had left before In My Tribe, so it can’t be him. Also, why is he in the foreground and poor Rob was punted into the background behind Steve?

@tk423b

Careful, you sound like your parents. There is plenty of good music out there, you just have to search for it as opposed to being spoon fed like the ol’ days.

@boomslangdog This was originally broadcast no later than 1987, because i was still living in the east village with my bandmates and we caught this original broadcast.

@tk423b Very good question, my guess is that younger people don’t have the same sentiment, younger generations have grew up with violence and decepcions and that kills the magic to create. different and new times are here….. not so good !!

@tk423b Musicians do not run the business of music. Accountants do.

Talk about mislabled. I love the band (even though this NM, NOT 10,000 Maniacs), She was performing with the Late Nite Band, not the Maniacs. And while I always like good overall playing, this was hardly an awesome guitar solo. If you want to mention a stand out performance comment on how great Will Lee is on bass here. Anyway, I kept waiting for the AWESOME guitar solo and all I got was a pretty basic melody line.

Sorry bohs 1984… You are 1/2 correct, while most of the member on stage are with the Late Nite band the two main variables of the Maniacs are on the stage the “guitar” solo you are whining about is played by Robert Buck (died 2000) the guy in the back with the black shirt white shoes . He was the actual sound of the Maniacs like The Edge is the sound of U2 Buck made the maniacs what they were ,he was great . I cant help playing this over and over with Natalie changing up the words at the end!!

@Laika57 When you say you are a Bucco fan are you talking about the Pittsburgh Pirates or the Tampa Bay Buc`s ? Either way I am from Pittsburgh and live in the Tampa Bay area. I would prob say you are speaking of the Pirates ..

Is the guitarist in the background the one who actually played solo/lead and is he playing a Robin Ranger or Robin Rawhide? I can’t be certain because the camera never focuses on him but that headstock looks very Robin, great guitars although somewhat unknown.
