call HART crazy .. but
It’s almost like I’m embarrassed to add some things on my new To-Do list that I am using. I can’t describe how busy and stressed and overworked and lack of sleep and super adrenalin rushes and other emotions that I have been experiencing in the last three weeks in getting mostly everything done. Of course, that is not unusual – because it happens every year.
During my busiest season ever, I have noticed my blogs and traffic have been slowly deteriorating and I hope to consciously do something to improve traffic and build it up. Currently, I am in the process of tweaking all my designs, upgrading all the blogs to the latest wordpress version 2.0.2, and adding a few new plugins that takes time to configure. In addition, the “Battling Series” of blogs that Ruth and I had started in January and February were put on hold until I basically had more time to spend with.
Currently, the active blogs that postings has started and the only ones that are 100% ready are:
Battling-Addiction.com
Battling-Cancer.com
Battling-Schizophrenia.com
All others are live and will be tweaked before the end of this upcoming weekend.
Having health blogs are a tough lot, because there are a lot of great sites out there, and lots of informational resource blogs and websites that it would be nuts to compete with. We have finally agreed on a specific direction and motivation for continued blogging in our battling series of blogs. The main focus will always be what part of our domain name represents .. “BATTLING” and “Battling The Monster”.
We will be, in some ways, trying to be almost like an entertainment media blog who will be posting news of “who’s got cancer this week” or “Who’s schizophrenic today” or “Who is addicted to drugs? and stuff like that. We will also be posting stories about great individuals overcoming their illness and disabilities and battling their monster and is an inspiration to others who may know people with the health problem, or for people who know people who have the health problem.
For Ruth .. (member of HART-Empire Network) .. her husband Chris is battling Multiple Sclerosis (battling-MS.com). For me, my mother-in-law is fighting cancer (battling-cancer.com) and my brother is schizophrenic (battling-schizophrenia.com). Not to mention that I can lose a little weight (battling-obesity.com), probably have too high a chlorestoral count (battling-heartandstroke.com) .. and Accountant/Consultant (battling-stress.com) ..
Yes! Just thinking of all of that is quite depressing (battling-depression.com)
[C'mon .. you must have seen that last link coming

ANYWAY …..
Meanwhile, I have a ton of files to refile and this is the time of year that I go through my entire filing system in my basement and reorganize. I pull “current” files that are 3 years old and file all the files that I have been working on in the past 2 months. The only thing keeping me from doing that – is stuff that I should be doing, instead of working, blogging, eating, sleeping .. etc ..
My basement is a mess and filthy. I need to do a make-over and clean it up once and for all.
My backyard is a mess and I have to clean it up once and for all and put away the winter tools.
Oh crap – did I promise to ‘clean’ both bathrooms last weekend and said I would do it after the Monday Midnight May 1, 2006 income tax deadline? Where has time gone!
And speaking of HeartWorm and Tick Season .. plus maybe a rabies shot – I have to remember to make an appointment with the vet. I seem to psychologically erase that “to-do” task from my head every morning when I think how far away it is .. definately a car-ride outing for the doggies. Not fun driving back after their ‘shots’ ..(can you spell p-u-k-e … and .. c-a-r s-i-c-k-n-e-s-s)?
Oh – I also have about two months of unopened mail to go through. I wonder who’s threating to cut me off this month? Have to pay some bills too.
I’d put all of the above on my To-Do list .. but, I should just do it – and not PLAN to do it. I guess.
