Stuff you learn while you are out for lunch on Election Day …

call HART crazy … but

I was out voting Monday, January 23, 2006 … The place where I was to place my vote, is in walking distance and I decided to walk to the designated place, and exercise my right to vote towards selecting a new government. When I finished, and was walking back home .. it started to snow again. I hastened my paste, and just on the way back to my house, a little out of shape and panting, I could smell the wonderful odor coming out of the my corner “PALATAL EXPRESS” Restaurant on the way home. This is a great place that cooks mongolia style .. you select your ingredients (stir fry ingredients basically) and the meats and the sauces and they cook your meal on a 5-foot wide grill right in front of you.

Anyway, while I was eating my tasty lunch, alone in the restaurant, I picked up the latest edition of the “St. James Assiniboia Living’s West Winnipeg’s Community Newsletter” published by Unclebob Publications .. and there it is, on Page 2….

Guide to the Politics of Newspapers

* The Toronto Star is read by the people who run the country

* The Globe & Mail is read by people who think they run the country

* The National Post is read by people who think they should run the country

* The Winnipeg Sun is read by people who think they ought to run the country, but don’t really understand the Globe of the Post. They do, however like the colour weather maps and statistics shown in pie charts

* The Montreal La Presse is read by people who wouldn’t mind running the country, if they could spare the time, and if they didn’t have to leave Quebec to do it

* The Ottawa Citizen is read by people whose parents used to run the country

* The Winnipeg Free Press is read by people who aren’t too sure who’s running the country, and don’t really care as long as they can get a seat on the bus and read about Hillary Duff

* The Enquirer is read by people who don’t care who is running the country either, as long as they do something scandalous, preferably while intoxicated

* The San Francisco Chronicle is read by people who aren’t sure there is a country, or that anybody is running it .. but whoever it is, they oppose everything they stand for. There are occasional exceptions if the leaders happen to be illegal aliens from ANY country or galaxy as long as they are socialists

* The Miami Herald is read by people running another country, and need baseball scores
